The chrome clamp is nicely made and really shines. This whole system is very well made and it looks great but most importantly I USE IT ALL THE TIME! In fact, it became indispensable to me very quickly. It's not really a drink holder for me, it's a "catch all", I toss my sunglasses, keys, cell phone, half-gloves, toll-road change, etc. in it. It is a great and very practical storage place, it's stable and really effective. It's got a small (1/4") hole in the bottom center so it doesn't hold rain water and you can manually swivel it upside down to dump your change out.
